How Long Does Wallpaper Take to Dry?
Preparation
Before you even think about hanging wallpaper, the walls need to be properly prepared. This includes making sure the walls are clean and free of dust, dirt and grease. Any holes or cracks should be filled in and sanded smooth. Make sure the walls are dry before you begin. If you’re using a paste-the-wall wallpaper, then you’ll need to make sure you have the right type of adhesive to use.
Hanging the Wallpaper
Once the walls are prepared and you have the right adhesive, you can begin hanging the wallpaper. Depending on the type of wallpaper you’re using and the design, it can take anywhere from a few hours to a full day to hang the wallpaper. You should also leave a gap between the wallpaper and ceiling or floor to allow for expansion and contraction.
Drying Time
Once the wallpaper is hung, you’ll need to allow it to dry before you can start using the room again. Paste-the-wall wallpaper will typically take around 24 hours to dry fully. Pre-pasted wallpaper can take up to 48 hours to dry, depending on the humidity levels. It’s best to wait the full drying time before you start using the room.
